Court Duty

An employee who is legally summoned to serve on a jury during a court trial or subpoenaed may be permitted absence with pay for the time required for such duty.

Credit Union

Eligibility to become a member of local credit unions with payroll deduction is available.

Direct Deposit

Direct deposit is an electronic transfer of net pay into any bank or credit union.

Education Assistance Program

For employees who want to further their careers through education, the County offers a tuition reimbursement program.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

As of September 1, 2022, we began partnering with the Florida Sheriffs Employee Benefits Trust with a program called Optum EAP.  The program provides up to 5 sessions with an experienced consultant for each issue or problem at no cost to you, and the benefit renews each calendar year.  Optum EAP provides you with 24/7/365 access to Master-level specialists. 

Incentive Programs

To encourage employees to give back to the community, the County offers its employees opportunities to earn incentive leave by participating in events such as blood drives and volunteering their services at the annual Haunted Hayride which raises money for local charities.

Tax Deferred Programs

County employees are eligible to participate in a number of tax deferred programs, such as 457 Plans, Health Savings Accounts (HSA), Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) and Section 125 Cafeteria Plans. 

Training & Development

In an effort to give our employees the tools they need to succeed in the performance of their job duties, the County has developed an in-house Employee Academy with courses designed to meet employees’ needs at different stages of career growth. Outside training opportunities are also provided to employees.

Uniforms & Safety Footwear

In certain jobs where uniforms are required, they may be furnished at no cost to employee. In certain jobs where safety boots/shoes are required, they shall be furnished to the employee at no cost up to the allotted dollar amount.
