Wastewater
The Wastewater Division provides domestic wastewater treatment and industrial wastewater treatment. It is our goal to maintain high treatment standards for you.
Facilities
The Wastewater Division operations facilities include:
Military Point AWT
- Provides domestic wastewater treatment for all joint owners for the AWT facility, including:
- Callaway
- Cedar Grove
- Parker
- Springfield
- Unincorporated Bay County
- Tyndall Air Force Base and the City of Mexico Beach receive treatment services.
- On average, 3.7 million gallons per day (MGD) are processed.
- The amount of 0.5 MGD of treated effluent is supplied to the Pelican Point Golf Course at Tyndall Air Force Base for reuse as irrigation water.
- Pollutant removal efficiencies average 98.9% for biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) and 99.6% for total suspended solids (TSS).
Military Point Lagoon
- The treatment facility for industrial wastewater from Smurfit-Stone mill and Arizona Chemical Company.
- On average, 24 million gallons per day (MGD) are processed.
- Pollutant removal efficiencies average 92% for biochemical oxygen demand (BOD) and 81% for total suspended solids (TSS).
Maintenance Mechanics
- We are responsible for operation and maintenance of six master lift stations.
- We perform maintenance, repair and inspection services for the collection system and pump stations.

- Construction was completed in June 1999.
- Disinfection Process is Ultraviolet (UV) light. A chlorine solution will be added to the reuse water to achieve the required chlorine residual.
- Capacity is 7 million gallons per day (MGD) average flow, peak flow of about 14 MGD with heavy rainfall.
- Effluent Disposal at St. Andrew Bay (Class III Marine Waters); they will share existing effluent disposal line with Lagoon.
